This page explains how to ask Brightmere Council for information and how the council distinguishes between different kinds of information request.

Recorded council information

If you want information held by the council that is not already published, use the information-request service. Describe the information clearly enough for the council to identify the records you are asking for.

Your own personal information

A request for your own personal information is handled under the applicable data-protection process rather than as an ordinary freedom-of-information request. The council will direct the request to the correct route when the nature of the information makes that necessary.

Information already published

Before submitting a request, check the publication scheme, meeting and decision records and relevant service pages. If the information is already available, those sources are normally the quickest way to obtain it.
