Equality and safeguarding governance

Equality and safeguarding considerations form part of the way Brightmere Council designs, governs and reviews its services.

Equality

The council should consider how its services and decisions affect different people and communities, including accessibility and fair access to council services. Published equality policies, assessments or reports appear here when they exist as approved council products.

Safeguarding governance

Safeguarding governance ensures the council considers relevant risks within the services and activities it provides. This does not make Brightmere Council a statutory social-care authority or replace the responsibilities of services that hold those functions.

Concerns about immediate safety

If a concern requires an emergency or operational response from another public service, residents should use that service rather than the council's general corporate-information pages.
