Electoral boundaries determine how the Brightmere council area is divided for local representation.
Who sets the arrangements
The Local Government Boundary Commission for Havenstead is responsible for reviewing local electoral arrangements, including council boundaries, wards, council size and councillor numbers. Brightmere Council does not unilaterally create those arrangements.
What will be published
Once the current arrangements are settled, this section can show ward names and boundaries together with the number of councillors returned for each ward and links to councillor information.
Why this matters
Boundary information determines which residents are represented by which councillors and is therefore kept separate from neighbourhood, community and service-area descriptions.
Why boundaries matter
Electoral wards determine which residents are represented by which councillors and form part of the council's democratic structure. They are therefore formal public-administration boundaries, not labels that can be inferred from neighbourhood names, platform spaces or service areas.
Once the competent boundary process has settled the relevant arrangements, this page should publish or link to the official ward information used by the council.
