How the council can help

The council can consider concerns connected with its own services, community activity and local prevention work. Where appropriate it can work with another public body or direct the issue to the organisation responsible.

When another service is responsible

If the matter is a crime, involves immediate danger or requires a police response, it should be reported through the relevant policing or emergency route. The council does not investigate criminal offences or direct police operations.

Before contacting us

Use the reporting guidance to check which service is responsible. Giving the issue to the right body first reduces delay and avoids residents being passed between services unnecessarily.
