How we can help

The council can help businesses identify relevant local information, understand council engagement or place-based activity and find the public body responsible for services outside Brightmere Council's remit.

What we do not provide

The council does not automatically exercise taxation, national business regulation, trading-standards or other functions that belong to a different authority.

Contacting the council

When asking for support, explain what your business or organisation needs and whether you have already contacted another public body. This helps the enquiry reach the most appropriate service.

Finding the right business support

Brightmere Council's local-economy role is focused on local place and community conditions. A business enquiry may therefore need to be directed to a strategic authority, central government or another competent body if it concerns a function outside the council.

The council makes that boundary clear and does not present a general business service as if it covered regulation, taxation or functions the council does not hold.
