Understanding local needs

The council can use local information, engagement and service evidence to understand issues affecting centres, organisations and community economic activity.

What Brightmere Council can do

Within its functions, the council can provide local coordination and information and contribute local evidence to wider programmes.

Strategic functions

Where responsibility sits with the Steadfast & Hearth Combined Sphere Authority or another government body, the council should work through that relationship rather than present the strategic function as a Brightmere service.

How local economic issues connect

Changes in local centres can affect community participation, recreation, local infrastructure and the use of public space. Brightmere Council can consider those connections through its assigned local functions while recognising where strategic economic policy or delivery sits elsewhere.

Published projects should identify the organisation responsible for decisions and delivery so that council involvement is not overstated.
